Guy: I think your price is a little high. I'd like to offer $200. Are you willing to negotiate?

Me: Yeah, negotiation is fine. I'd be willing to go to about $400

Guy: I still think $200 is a fair offer. I'm going to stay there.

Me: The lowest I could go right now is $350.

Guy: I still think $200 is fair.

Not the exact conversation, but pretty much what is going on with this guy. Maybe I'm wrong, but negotiation is a two sided conversation. He has also emailed me at least 3 other time is the last week to tell me his offer stands, still at $200, after I told him there is no way I could go at $200.

I once had a guy offer me eight hundred bucks for a truck. A four thousand dollar truck. I told him to get off my property.

He returned an hour later saying his friend wanted to buy the truck. His friend offered me eight fifty.

I had a guy do this to me for weeks when I was trying so sell some wheels/tires. Same thing, his offer was low and I was in no rush to sell. When I finally accepted his offer, he decided last minute to go buy new tires instead. I hate Craigslist.

If it's all digital I don't mind when people come right out with their max offer and stick to it even if I'll never go that low. It's way more annoying if they imply they'll be near your price then come out and view the item then go way low and won't budge.

I only negotiate with people who actually show up in person. I've never negotiated with someone via email and actually had them show up and buy it.
